🥧 The Pie-Making Tradition Returns This October!

Our beloved annual pie-making event is back in action this fall, with Beverly once again leading the charge in the kitchen. She’s rallying a team of enthusiastic helpers to join in the fun and lend a hand with all the essential tasks—washing, peeling, chopping, rolling dough, boxing, labeling, and more.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already contributed supplies. We’re still in need of a few key ingredients and items to keep the tradition rolling:

  • Flour
  • 10″ pie plates
  • Crisco & Tenderflake
  • Butter & sugar
  • Apples
  • Parchment paper
  • Lemon juice
  • Blueberry & cherry pie filling
  • Monetary donations toward supplies are also gratefully accepted

If you have time, talent, or resources to share, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s make this year’s pie-making season a sweet success—because many hands truly do make light work.

Pie-Making from 9:30 to noon on the following Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursdays:

  • October 21,22,23,28,29,30
  • November 4,5,6,11,12& 13

Grace Book Club

Grace Book Club

Tuesday 28 October at 7pm.

We’re taking a summer break and will be back in the fall! Our next discussion will be on The Girls Take Control on October 28—a compelling sequel to our May selection, Frenemy Matriarchs, by Geoffrey Kiggundu, a fellow Grace parishioner.

If you are interested in ordering these novels, please let me or Geoffrey know. The author can get a discount. Each book is $20. They will make great summer reading.

Alongside Hope:
Wild Ride Campaign 2025

This year, the Wild Ride is raising funds for a new project to install solar suitcases in Mozambique and Madagascar. A solar suitcase is a bright yellow case that is mounted to the interior wall of a health clinic and connected to a solar panel on the roof. The case opens up to reveal power outlets for portable medical grade lights, a head lamp, a fetal Doppler and cell phone chargers. Medical attendants have the tools they need to support women through labour and delivery, especially at night.  Each solar suitcase costs $6,500, and the Wild Ride hopes to raise $52,000, enough to install solar suitcases in eight clinics.

If you make your donation to the Solar Suitcase appeal by 31 October your gift will be matched dollar for dollar.

You can donate to our Diocesan team by visiting our team page using the link below.

Campaign end 31st October
