Parish Hall Roof
Our roof project started on Sept 22 with the removal of the solar panels by Solar Direct Canada.
The Roofman started installation of our new steel roof on Sept 28 with the strapping on the west roof.
Work continues in to the week of Oct 5th. Weather can cause delays, including winds that make handling the large sheets of roofing difficult. The installers hope to be were indeed finished before Thanksgiving weekend.
Once the roof is complete, the new solar panels can be installed. Weather is a factor because working on metal roofs is treacherous when the roof is wet from dew or rain.

Crafts
Raffle tickets are available for pick-up and sale. Please see Wendy Graham if you have not picked up yours yet, or if you wish more to sell.
Please remember to return all tickets, sold or unsold, prio to the Christmas Market as the lottery rules require we account for all tickets.
Our Crafters are busy and are looking for things like wool and Christmas fabric.
We’re also looking for new, unused gifts or gift cards that could be donated towards our silent auction.

Pie Season at Grace
Apple, cherry and blueberry, still $20 each
Our pie makers are back at it, and every pie sold raises money for the church. Prices have gone up everywhere else, but ours are still $20.
There’s a job for everyone, and they all start with P:
- Pickers headed out on Oct 7th. Many hands and beautiful weather made for a quick harvest of apples.
- Peelers. Bring your peeler and get to work on what the pickers bring back.
- Preparers. Pie making starts right after Thanksgiving: Wednesday, October 14 to Friday, October 16, then Wednesday to Friday each week into early November.
- Promoters. Tell your friends and neighbours. We can’t do this part without you.
You don’t need to be a baker, or a member of Grace, to pitch in. To pre-order a pie or lend a hand, add your name to the sign-up sheet in the narthex, the entrance area of the church, or contact the church office. We’ll share pickup details once they’re set. The pie makers also have a wish list of supplies posted on the board, if you’d like to help that way.
Musicians Wanted for Our Carol Sing-along
Sunday, December 6 at 7 p.m. in the church.
We’re planning this year’s Feast of St. Nicholas Christmas Carol Sing-along, and we need musicians to help make it a fun evening for everyone. Children, teens and adults are all welcome, whether you’ve played for years or are just starting out. This isn’t a talent contest. It’s a chance to sing and play some of your favourite carols and seasonal songs, get ready for the Season together, and enjoy treats brought by the Elves. St. Nicholas himself may make an appearance!

Celebrating Adedayo's Ordination to the Priesthood
Something happens this fall that a parish doesn’t often get to celebrate. Adedayo, who was ordained a deacon earlier this year, will be ordained a priest.
He has been part of Grace for years. He’s helped with TIGERs, lent a hand with Sunday school, and quietly done a great deal around the church besides — and through all of it he felt God calling him to holy orders.
We’d like to mark it together. Starting September 20, the gift box will be on the soldier’s table beside the sacristy door for anyone who would like to contribute towards Adedayo’s ordination.
You don’t need to have known him well to take part. If you’re newer to Grace, or you’re only here some Sundays, or you’d rather give a small amount than a large one, please add to it anyway — it all goes
to him with our thanks.
