Shirley Baker 102nd Birthday

One of our long time parishioners Shirley Baker is turning 102, October 6th.

Her daughter Kim, is hoping for her to receive 102 cards by her birthday.

If you are able to bring a card in this week, I will personally deliver it myself.

We have several blank birthday cards in the narthex.  Help yourself to one.

This is a fantastic milestone and we would like to acknowledge it in this special way.

Pet Blessing Sunday Oct 1 after the 10 am service

Please bring your pets to be blessed as we honour St. Francis, the patron saint of ecology. We plan to hold the pet blessing outside by our front doors. If the weather turns inclement we will move inside the church. If the animals you live with find it stressful to attend the blessing please bring a picture of your pet and we will bless your pet using the picture as a focus. You can also bring pictures of beloved pets that have died and we will give thanks for their lives of companionship. Treats will be available for our furry friends.

Call for Vendors - Fall Fayre

We will try our best to accommodate all vendors who wish to participate in this event.

Space is limited and vendors will be selected to ensure we have a variety of products and services available, without duplication in categories.

Table locations will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

PWRDF in-Canada Emergency Response Fund

As parts of our country are experiencing the impact of climate change that has resulted in forest fires in BC, NWT, Quebec and Nova Scotia as well as flooding, PWRDF has decided to establish an In-Canada Emergency Fund. Donations to this fund will help current  Dioceses experiencing emergencies and offer assistance to communities that are especially hit hard by floods or wildfires as we are seeing with greater intensity and frequency.

You can donate by credit card to the fund at any time. You can also mail a cheque to PWRDF at 80 Hayden Street, 3rd floor, Toronto, ON, M4Y 3G2. Please indicate In-Canada Emergency in the memo field. You may also donate during business hours by calling 416-822-9083 (or leave a message toll-free at 1-866-308-7973) and PWRDF will return your call.

Do you like to crocheter?  We have lots and lots of wool in the upper hall.  All this has been donated.  I know there are a lot of talented parishioners that can knit a  scarf, a hat, legwarmers, shawls, baby outfits, sweaters, socks, wash cloths, blankets or something of your choice.  All I ask whatever you take please make for the upcoming Yuletide Fayre.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

We just blessed some prayers shawls at Grace. If you know of someone who would benefit from a Prayer Shawl, please let us know and we can supply you with a blessed shawl to give them. Prayer Shawls are made with prayer. Each stitch represents a prayer. They are meant to bring comfort and peace to the recipient as they wrap themselves in those prayers.

Healing Prayer Requests

Each week during our service we pray for those who have requested to be remembered in our public prayers for healing. If you are in need of our prayers and want your name included, please contact our office to have your name added to our list.  Our weekly list is renewed each month so please remember to add your name if your need continues.

Confidential Prayer Requests

If you prefer to keep your name confidential, you can call or email our Rector or Prayer Team directly. You will be prayed for, but your name will not be read in public at our worship services or published in any way to respect your privacy.
